Why do we need light?

  • “so we don’t bump into things”
  • “so we can read a book”
  • “so we can wake up”
  • “to play games”
The children decided that light was very important so… we took the light away. On Thursday we covered all the windows and switched of the lights turning our room into a black box. The children thought this was very exciting but soon got frustrated when they couldn’t read their favourite book, draw a picture or even go to  the bathroom!
We gave out a limited number of torches and asked them to complete their activities. They needed to work as a team to find the right colour pencil or read a book. The children were so quiet and focused and enjoyed working with the torches so much, we kept it going for a little bit longer
